We are very excited to announce that the bi-annual HFML-FELIX User Meeting will be taking place July 8-10 of this year. This time the event will be combined with an EPSRC-sponsored UK Users of FELIX workshop.

HFML-FELIX is home to world-class high-field magnet and free-electron laser facilities, supporting cutting-edge research in a wide range of disciplines, from condensed matter physics and chemistry, to astrochemistry and materials science.

The User Meeting serves as a dynamic forum, bringing together researchers who actively utilize our infrastructure and those looking to explore emerging opportunities in the infrared and THz domain, as well as in high magnetic fields, or the combination of the two. The event presents a unique opportunity to connect with our user community, gain valuable insights into their ongoing projects, and identify new avenues for collaboration.

National research institute

With the recent transformation of HFML-FELIX from a part of Radboud University to a National Collaboration between NWO-I and several Dutch universities we are entering an exciting new phase, and we would like to involve our user community as well as prospective new users.

The meeting will be held at HFML-FELIX and Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, from Tuesday, July 8 (lunch time arrival) until Thursday, July 10 (lunch time departure). We aim to have a stimulating scientific program with oral and poster presentations by local groups and external users, as well as from scientists working in closely related fields. There will also be ample time for lab tours and discussion sessions for user feedback and exchange.

This year’s event will also host the 2025 EPSRC-sponsored UK Users of FELIX Workshop, a dedicated session for existing and prospective UK users to explore new opportunities for FELIX-based research.
